About Employee Provident Fund Organization (EPFO):
Employee Provident Fund Organization is responsible for assisting the central Board of Directors, a body created by virtue of the 1952 law on Employees’ Provident Fund and 98 articles. Labour and Employment of the Government of India. EPFO assists the Central Committee in the administration of a mandatory pension scheme, a pension plan, and an insurance system for workers in the organized sector in India. It is also the agency responsible for the implementation of bilateral social security agreements with other countries on a reciprocal basis.
The plans cover Indian workers and international workers. To date, 17 social security agreements are in force. This is one of the largest social security organizations in India in terms of the number of covered beneficiaries and the volume of financial transactions carried out. The supreme decision-making body of the Central Board of EPFO of Trustees (TCC). On October 1, 2014, the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, has launched a universal account number for employees covered by EPFO to allow the portability of PF numbers.
